Japan's first Office Depot discount office supply store opened its doors in mid- December in Tokyo's Shinagawa ward. The 31,300-square-foot store carries computers, facsimile machines and other office equipment and furniture as well as office supplies. It is managed by OFFICE DEPOT INC.'s subsidiary, which is a joint venture between the Delray Beach, Florida company and a local firm.
An exchange rate of ¥130=$1.00 was used in this report.
