One of the hottest names in designer jeans for women in trendy American cities is an equally huge success in Japan. The key is the narrow cut of the five EARL JEAN product lines. Since exclusive distributor YAGI TSUSHO, LTD. launched marketing of Earl jeans in February at some 200 outlets around the country, including boutiques and upscale department stores, sales have been running close to 10,000 pairs a month. A typical pair of Earl jeans costs $130. To ensure the continued success of the brand, Los Angeles-based Earl Jean has opened an office/showroom in Tokyo.
